It Took Me 7 Months to Stop Fighting Claude Code. What I Learned About Claude Code

Most tutorials teach you features. Nobody teaches you the physics of Claude Code. Here is every mistake I made — and the system that fixed them.

The error message didn’t make sense. For the third time in twenty minutes, Claude had rewritten a function I’d explicitly told it not to touch. My context window was bloated with five rounds of corrections, each one making the output worse. It was 11 PM on a Tuesday — the kind of Tuesday where you question every tool decision you’ve made this quarter.

I closed the terminal. Opened VS Code. Wrote the function myself in eight minutes.

That was four months into using Claude Code daily. I was supposed to be faster by now. Every blog post promised it. Every Twitter thread swore by it. And yet there I was, mass-producing spaghetti code and then debugging it at midnight — convinced the tool was overhyped.
